Leave and paid leave
As a worker posted to Germany, you are entitled to paid leave. The amount of paid leave days granted to you depends on the amount of time that you work in Germany.
For every 12 days of work you are entitled to one day of leave. That is 2.5 days per month. If you work in Germany for an entire year, you are entitled to 30 paid leave days. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are not working days, which means, you do not take leave on these days.
If you have not taken all of your leave by the end of the year (December), you can take the days that you have left in the following year.
Half a day of leave (or more) is rounded down during the current year (January to December). Example: 2.5 paid leave days = 2 paid leave days
Then it is rounded up at the beginning of next year. Example: 2.5 paid leave days = 3 paid leave days
Paid leave
Leave means paid leave. It means your employer pays you money (remuneration for paid annual leave) when you are on leave.
Your remuneration for paid annual leave amounts to 14.25 % of the gross wage that you earned in Germany.
Change of employer
If you change to another construction company during your posting, you are able to take your remaining leave (days and money) with your new employer. It does not matter whether your new employer is based in Germany or abroad.
