Example: Your leave for 2020 will be forfeited by 1st January 2022. You can apply for compensation from 1st January 2022 until 31st December 2022. If you submit your application to us before 1st January 2022, we are not able to pay you any compensation.
What happens next?
Once we have reviewed your application and you have met all requirements, we pay you the money. This can take up to 12 weeks.
Amount of your entitlements
Please note that the leave pay is higher than the compensation. What does this mean for you? When you take leave, your employer will pay you more leave pay than the amount that you would receive from us, when applying for compensation. With leave pay, you receive 14.25 % of your wage. With compensation, you receive 12.5 % of your wage.
Example: A worker is still entitled to leave pay of 200 EUR in the current year. If he takes paid leave during his posting, his employer pays him this 200 EUR.
If the employee does not take any leave during his posting and later applies to us for compensation, we will pay him 175 EUR.
Compensation is subject to tax.
